Orijin Bees by a 7-year-old to be sold in target

Orijin Bees, the doll brand started 7-year-old Esi Orijin and her Mom is soon to be available on Target Stores.

The two recently inked a deal with Target to have their Orijin Bees Baby Bee collection showcased in all stores.

The line features a variety of beautiful skin tones we have in our Black and Brown skin but also the array of curly hair patterns. Best of all, every doll in the collection is eco-friendly and nontoxic.

ORIJIN BEES stands for Our Representation is Just Inclusion Normalized, Beautifully Empowering Every Soul.

HOW THE BRAND STARTED

All Esi’s parents ever wanted was for their daughter to fully embrace her deep-rooted African cultures from Cape Verde and Ghana as they lived by-coastal for years.

A world citizen from young who had experienced cultures and food from all over the world by the time she was 7, Esi seemed to be fulfilling her parents dreams.

That is, until she started school – a private school known for their academic excellence –  it seems her socialization with other kids led to her curiosity in all things caucasian because that is what she was seeing.

Esi was soon struggling with her confidence and so her Mom decided that starting the doll line was a good way to encourage her.

The brand was created with the goal of instilling self-love during pretend play, helping young Black girls build the confidence to know their worth and, ultimately, become leaders of the future.

The holidays are coming. Some little Black girl you know needs to know her skin and hair are beautiful and is accepted. Support little Esi by shopping the Orijin Bees Baby Bee collection at Target.com or go to OrijinBees.com for more information and to see the entire line of toys – Healthcare Hero Bee Pretend Play Set, and clothing and headband sets for the dolls.
