If you struggle because you don’t feel you belong within the spaces in certain wellness communities, it’s probably because you don’t.
The messages out there seem to be one-size-fits-all, which doesn’t work for us. Black women need extra care and attention. That is why our mission is simple.
Where We Started: The idea for a movement was started with the initial intention to create a radical self-care space for women of color to thrive in.
In partnership with a close friend, we hosted hikes to upstate New York, hosted Sunday meetups we dubbed “In the Living Room” where moms met to de-stress and talk self-care, and/or meditate.
That was the beginning of something…
Ask any Black woman you know how they feel, and you’ll get responses from “I’m fine – I don’t need to change my health” to “I know I should make healthier choices” to “I’m trying to make healthier choices”.
However, Wellness has been touted as one-size-fits-all by wealthy white wellness influencers.
Truthfully, not everyone is in the same state of mind. The images we see don’t always convey who we are, our point of view, our struggle, and how we generally feel about ourselves. Most of all, what we can afford.
We believe it’s not about being one-sized but taking a custom and holistic view of your health and wellness.
It’s time to go deeper!
With the onset of COVID-19, we’ve all been given the gift of time. Time to catch up, time to reflect, and time to take action on things you’ve long left undone.
Which is why we created All About The Sisters!
We invite you to take this journey with us as a woman of color. Be a part of rewriting the wellness narrative for yourself and those coming behind you. Reclaim your personal health journey and get better at being well through our engaging discussions via our Podcast, sharing in our reservoir of wellness Resources, and joining our Membership community.
